The sounds used in Sound Therapy
In my sound therapy sessions, I use a range of therapeutic instruments that I am trained to play in supportive, client-focused ways.
Each session is guided by how you’re feeling on the day, so I choose the sounds and instruments that feel most appropriate for you in that moment. Sometimes they’re used gently on their own, sometimes layered together, but always with the intention of creating a safe, nurturing space where you can fully rest and reset.
Himalayan Singing Bowls
Himalayan singing bowls produce rich, grounding tones that support deep relaxation and nervous system regulation. They may be played both around the body and gently on the body, allowing vibration to be felt directly and helping to ease physical tension and encourage a sense of calm and grounding.
Crystal Singing Bowls
Crystal singing bowls create clear, resonant sounds that feel expansive and uplifting. Their tones can support emotional balance, mental clarity, and a sense of spaciousness and alignment.
Gongs
Gongs produce deep, enveloping waves of sound that encourage profound relaxation and release. Their layered tones help quiet the thinking mind and allow the body to relax, helping with physical tension, guiding you to settle into a deeply restorative state.
Monochord
The monochord produces a continuous, flowing sound rich in harmonics. Its soothing resonance can help calm the nervous system, support deep rest, and create a sense of safety and containment within the body
